Since they were kittens at a shelter, my cats have been feed Purina One. The vet recommended we continue with that, but it is expensive! On sale I am lucky to get a 3.5 lb. bag for $6.99. That doesn’t last my two cats very long.
Recently there was a $2.00 off any size Purina One coupon. I bought several of those coupons off eBay, and took advantage of the opportunity to stock up.
All told, I bought 23 - 1.2 lb. bags (that were on sale for $2.29 each, giving me an out of pocket cost of .29 per bag and 53 – 6 ounce bags (some were 1.99 at some Walgreens giving me an out of pocket cost of nothing). On my last day of shopping, I found some of these small bags that were on clearance for .49 each! One $2.00 coupon covered 4 small bags.
The coupons cost approximately .10 a piece, and I bought 55 of them. ($5.50). At the stores, I paid $8.59 (not including tax).
I bought the equivalent of 13 – 3.5 lb. bags (which would cost $90.87) on sale for $14.09, or $1.08 per 3.5 lb. bag.
Hopefully I am stocked up until the next great sale!

I never knew you could buy coupons on E-bay. I'd love to see a post about the in's and out's of doing this!

Mimi--I have a post for this in the works. It should be up some time early next week.
Wow, Great Job! I really need to start back using coupons on the regular basis... My stockpile looks pitiful.
