Our grocery bill this year thus far has been above the $50 a week that I was aiming for, so I tried to reign in my spending this week. I was still over budget, but only a little bit this time.

Tony's:

1 jar tomato sauce = .34

3 soft cat food = 1.20
5 lb. bag grapefruit = 1.99
2.29 lbs. bananas = .76
1.75 lbs. bananas = .58
4 navel oranges = 2.01
1 red bell pepper = .55
1 green bell pepper = .79
1 lb. bosc pears = .77
1 avocado = .79
2.26 danjou pears = 1.79
1 16 oz. bag frozen corn = 1.00
1 16 oz. bag frozen peas = 1.00
2 dozen eggs = 1.98

Total = 17.98

I can’t find the receipt for this one, but the total was $19.49.

Meijer:

2 international coffees = 5.38
2 boxes of cereal = 6.98

Total = 12.36

1 pkg. Huggies = 8.99 -2.00 Q – 3.00 RR = 3.99
1 candy bar = .69

Total = 5.55

Total for the week = 55.38
Total for February = 147.67
Total for the year = 464.98 (averaging 77.49/week)
