Slow Cooker Hamburger Soup

I originally got this recipe off recipezaar a few weeks ago, but we have altered it to give it more of the flavor we like. It is so goooooood!

1-1/2 lbs. extra lean ground beef
1 cup mixed frozen vegetables
28 oz. can baked beans in maple syrup
4 green onions, sliced
2 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
2 cups beef broth
1-19 oz. can stewed tomatoes
1-7.5 oz. can tomato sauce
1/2 c. salsa
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 c. slow cooking barley

1. Brown the ground beef in a non-stick pan and pour off the fat.

2. Add to the slow cooker and combine with the rest of the ingredients except barley.

3. Cook on low for 5 hours.

4. Add the barley and stir.

5. Cook on low for 3 more hours.
I shared this post at Life As Mom, $5 Dinners, and Tempt My Tummy Tuesdays.
