Grocery Shopping Sunday, 5/24/09 (late edition)

We had a very minimal (for us) budget to work with this week. We were also out of town, so I was shopping at stores I don't typically frequent, but we did okay.

Harding's Market

2 Liter Pepsi = 1.00
Cottage cheese = 1.99
Bacon = 2.50
Total = 5.49

Meijer

1 loaf bread = 2.00
2 cans broth = .88/ea = 1.76
1 gallon milk = 1.99
2 lbs. strawberries = 2.99
1-28 oz. can tomatoes = 1.49
3/4 lb. ham lunchmeat = 3.08
1 bag lima beans = 2.19
1 bunch green onions = .50
1 bag of apricots = 1.98
5 peaches =1.82
Total = 19.80

Grand Total = 25.29 + 12.89 for my CVS trip = 38.18

To see the meals we will make this week, go here.

TOTAL FOR MAY = 310.02
(My goal was to bring our regular grocery bill of approximately $350 down to $280 this month. True, I am $30 over my goal of $280, but I am still considering this month a success because we spent $30 out of the grocery money to make a homemade sushi meal at home instead of going out for Mother's Day and I had to spend $22 to bring snacks for my son's preschool.
